Pollen's First Christmas

ree

The sleigh is ready to come to the greenhouse! Years ago, I heard from my aunt who lives in the Denver area about a garden center there that has a sleigh they provide for family photos. I loved the idea, and like so many others, I tucked it away in my pocket of dreams. Dusty this year surprised me with this sleigh that needed quite a bit of TLC but lucky for me Kathy Kendrick is a loyal friend and customer who has worked her magic on this one.

This week I am busy making room in the back of the greenhouse for this beauty. I am excited but nervous for my Christmas trees and holiday plants to get here. My open house is November 26 10-2, can't wait to see you all!

In the garden this week: now is a great time to gather all those tools and supplies to organize and sharpen. Cleaning your tools is especially important to prevent the spread of disease and insects. I have also put my piles of leaves and pine needles over the roots of roses and my potted plants for that extra layer of insulation over the winter. I am also cutting and storing my canna bulbs for winter. We had some amazing giants that I am already dreaming about next year.

There is no way that I can complain about this amazing fall that we experienced. I have lived here 23 years and never seen one like it. The colors and warm temperatures were amazing.

As I move toward more indoor projects, it forces me to slow down and think about this whirlwind of a growing season. I am truly humbled by your support of my small business.

Come see our Christmas cactus and poinsettias coming in this week!
